Myopia ( Shortsightedness)
Myopia, or short sightedness, is a focussing error in which means the light comes to a focus in front of the retina, rather than on the retina. Consequently the image on the retina is blurry.
In myopia, near objects look sharp but distant objects are blurred.
Excellent information on short sightedness is available from the American Academy of Opthalmology website here
